Vera Wang's first European headquarters occupies a converted office block in London, reworked by The Close Eye into a showroom, client lounge,

bar and workspace for the brand's ready-to-wear collections. The building arrived as a stripped shell: concrete slab, exposed services, a line of columns down the centre. Rather than hide any of it, the design keeps the bones on show and lets a small palette do the work. Black-stained oak joinery, glass-topped plinths and a continuous line of light hold the product; pale floors and white walls do nothing but present it. The columns were mirrored, so the showroom reads as one uninterrupted room. At its centre, a black buying table sits under the open ceiling; at one end, a bar with backlit shelving. The client lounge is a glass box within the space, softened by sheer curtains and finished in black marble, brass and bouclé, so wholesale buyers have somewhere that feels like a house rather than a shop. Every piece of furniture was designed by the studio and made to order. The Close Eye delivered layout, interior design, furniture design and project management.
